Photos from Berkeley Ironworks

September 23, 2008

So these are some photos from the Berkeley Ironworks gym, one of the Touchstone gyms.  I would have loved to have seen these photos while I was climbing in Gainesville just so I could be better informed of the discrepancy between different gyms (and thus rallied for changes).

I took these pictures.

This is the section of hard boulders, a sweet upside-down wave with problems from juggy V0s up to V10s.

The rest of the bouldering area is either vertical or just slightly overhung, like this column:

And the vertical section at the back:

A view with my back turned to the vertical bouldering area.  Rope-climbing on either side and the cardio machines in front on the top level.  The room to the upper left is where they have yoga classes, spinning and other classes.

Weight machines at the bottom.

A couple of pictures from the top level:

Tall rope walls.
